  • Question

  • Hi All,

I read a couple of article regarding Skype for business retiring. Ms has mentioned they are promoting MS Teams for replacement of Skype for business, do you know when they going to stop Skype for business service.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

SFB Server will still be supported for the foreseeable future, no timeline for SFB Server. SFB Server 2019 was announced at Microsoft Ignite last year, so you will also have a newer version to update to, if needed.

MS is planning to upgrade from skype for business Online to Teams in the future, but there is no definite time so far, let’s looking forward to it.

Again, no one is forcing you to switch to Teams, but you can at least configure some interoperability, etc.

And keep an eye on the Teams Roadmap: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/Roadmap-updated-for-bringing-Skype-for-Business-capabilities-to/ba-p/152266
