Cookies Blocked RRS feed

  • Question

  • I work at a treatment center, and I have a student who tries to log on to a website for online school, but it won't let him log on. It says that cookies are blocked on the site. I pull up the privacy report, and I right click the site, and choose always accept cookies. I have also clicked on "summary" on the privacy report, and chose the option always accept cookies. I have also gone to internet properties, privacy, sites, and typed that site in to allow it. The current privacy setting is on medium, but I've tried it on all settings and it won't let him log in. I am using internet explorer 8. Is there anything else I can do to unblock the cookies? He is on a limited profile, and on the admin account, I can log in to the website. We use windows steadystate to lock up the computer, and I've tried unblocking everything on there, and it still won't work on his user account. Can someone please help?!?!?!?

  • Hi,

Quite often websites mistake disabled scripting for disabled cookies, since you need scripting enabled to also read cookies...

Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default"

Trusted sites icon, 'Sites' button.. remove the site from the trusted sites list if its there..... some sites use sub-domains for credential checking... if both the root and the sub domain are not in the same zone they cannot share cookies. Alternatively use the wildcard notation to cover all sub-domains eg. *
