Windows 7 home premium 64bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to install sharepoint 2010 on my laptop for learning purposes. However, I understand that it's not possible to install on windows 7 home premium. Is there any workaround? What if i install VM on my laptop and install SharePoint server on that?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

There are blogs available where people have described a successful installation on Home Premium but it's not a supportable by MS from what I believe.  Personally, if it's for learning purposes and providing your laptop has the resources, I would proceed with the Virtual machine install and keep it seperate and tidy.
