Import all user object with SMTP addresses from AD to avoid duplicate entry RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Anyone who has following experience.

    1. FIleMA (user1 to user 11 are in the text file) -> FIM -> AD (Create contact)

    2. Existing user 1 to user 10 are already in AD.

    3. In this case, just need to create user 11.

    Where are the steps requirements?  Please advise.  Thanks.

  • Hi Kelvin,

    You can create all users in the FIM portal but you have to link them to AD objects via your ADMA's "Configure Join and Projection Rules" step and also defining it in synchronization rule (Inbound - Outbound) related with your AD synchronization. You could follow below links;

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff686264(v=ws.10).aspx

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff686263(v=ws.10).aspx

    Then;

    You will have a few point you should be carefull;

    - SMTP addresses attribute's ( actually it's known as proxy addresses ) precedence order could be configured as "equal precedence"(which I suggest) or ADdicted according to your needs :) Equal Precedence means last writer wins! otherway AD will be authoritative. Proxyaddresss attribute should be on both Inbound & Outbound scenario, So you can configure the precedence!

    - Linking and joining rules require a common attribute has the same value both on FIM side and AD side for your specific scenario.

    What I would suggest for Run Profiles for your scenario;

    ADMA -> FI - FS

    FileMA -> FI - FS

    FIMMA -> E - FI

    ADMA -> FS (this step is for joining users, you will have 10 joins)

    FIMMA -> E - FI -FS ( this step will sync proxyaddresses and SID to FIM)

    ADMA -> E - (DI or FI) - FS

    FIMMA -> E - FI

    Don't forget that I would only use these steps for initial load requirements like your case!
