No Thumbnails for MPEG2 Videos in Windows Media Center RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a number of MPEG2 (.mpg) files using MPEG2-DVD format option in Adobe Media Encoder (as part of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0) and transferred them to my videos folder. While thumbnails for these files exist in Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player no thumbnails exist in Windows Media Center. In addition, in WMC "Unknown length" is shown for the video length instead of the length in hr:minTongue Tiedecs.

I've also noticed that I cannot Fast-forward or Rewind the MPEG2 files but can otherwise play them including Skip-forward and Skip-backward.

On the other hand I don't experience any problems with files in Windows Media Video 9 format (.wmv files).

I understand Adobe Media Encoder uses "MainConcept MPEG Video" Codec.

    Can anyone shed any light?
