SharePoint 2007 some users get "Access Denied" error when trying to open a Rich Text Editor in a web part RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Some of the users in our SharePoint environment are suddenly receiving "Access Denied" errors when trying to open the Rich Text Editor in existing Content Editor Web Parts. Nor can they add Content Editing Web Parts. The users all have sufficient rights to edit the pages and can add different  web parts, but not content related web parts. Other users with the same rights to the same

This link seems to discuss the same issue, and suggests that activating the Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure will resolve the issue. This feature is already activated for our site collection and I am a bit hesitant to deactivate it and activate is again, because I do not know what the consequences would be for the site collection or its subsites (it is a very big site collection).

Doe someone know what the consequences of deactivating this site collection feature are? Or does someone have any idea what might be causing this issue?

    Kind regards, Inge
