Best way to manage IE 10 and IE 9 on same LAN RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

What is the best way to manage a network that has a mix of IE9 and IE10 browsers? Single GPO? GPO + registry? Separate ILT GPO's? Not recommended?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

For my understanding, many ways can be used to manage a IE environment, like using Administrative Template, GPP, IEM or IEAK, depends on yourself, but pay attention to that IEM will no longer work on computers where Internet Explorer 10 or newer is installed, so it is a difference between IE 9 and 10. And GPP and IEAK use asynchronous processes when they run, so it is recommended to use only one for each group, you can see detailed information in the folloowing links.

  • I use a single GPO for all browser versions. (but, I don't set many settings...)

What's your scenario? Which settings do you use?

  • Hi Don,

Proxy, Proxy bypass, Zone assignments, Security levels, branding, URL's.. That's about it.

  • Hi Adrian,

See my second link, both GPP and IEAk can achieve your goal, it's hard to say which is better.
