Can I backup the C: drive with Steady State installed on it, using Backup Exec 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have steadystate installed on 6 computers. I also have Backup Exec 2010 and a second internal hard drive the same size as c:. If I backup the entire drive c: to d:, when restored will Steady State work as it did at the time I backed it up?

  • Hi, you can backup it by using Backup Exec 2010. Windows SteadyState is a tool to set several restrictions  for user and can set Windows Disk Protection for system drive. When Windows Disk Protection is on , it will restore C drive when restart PC, but no affect to D drive. So if you backup C drive to D, and when restored the Windows SteadyState will  work as it did at the time you backed it up.

Please note: You should better use administrator account to login and do the backup.
