Windows Experience Index Went down after upgrading the graphic card driver RRS feed

  • Hey there , i just upgraded my graphic card driver , and my Windwos Experience index went down from 7.1 to 7.0 on both desktop preformance and gaming graphics .. why did this happen ??? shouldnt it go highier ??? somebody explain plz !! thank you in advance !

  • Why would you think it should only go higher?

    Graphics driver writers seem to try to make their drivers more efficient with each new release, but sometimes they make certain things more efficient and other things less - for example, it's possible a specific popular game has gotten faster at the expense of the WEI calculation.  Or maybe they fixed a bug that required some additional code in a critical path.

    What video card is it, by the way?

    While I fully understand that anyone would be happier to see the number go up, you really have nothing to worry about.  7.1 and 7.0 are both very respectable numbers.
