Litetouch wizard error with Lenovo P50 model RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I had issues when trying to boot up from USB to image a Lenovo P50 machine but found out to set the Scratch Space to 256 and then updated the Deployment Share then copy the updated Litetouch WIM to my bootable USB stick and rename it to Boot.wim, i finally got it to boot up from USB lite touch but I run into the Wizard error see attached image.

    Wizard error:

A connection to the deployment share (\\name of machine\deploymentshare) could not be made. The following networking device did not have a driver installed.

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_15B8&SUBSYS_223317AA&REV_31

Retry: Try again to connect to the deployment share.

Cancel: Give up, cancelling any in-progress task sequence

I cannot find this PCI driver for Lenovo and if I do find it where do I place it? Out of the box drivers?

  • Hi

Yes - you need to place the driver in "out of box driver"

It is recommended to create a folder for WinPE drivers, and a selection profil so you can select only the WinPE drivers in the "drivers and Patches" for the WinPE settings.

At this site you can find the WinPE Drivers https://support.lenovo.com/dk/da/documents/sccm-index

    Kind regards

  • We imported more drivers, kept the WIN PE 5.0 and made another USB bootable stick from Litetouch ISO and now it started working. We got one P50 imaged successfully without that error.

    Thanks

  • I would use the Total Control method from this post: http://deploymentresearch.com/Research/Post/325/MDT-2013-Lite-Touch-Driver-Management

  • You might want to use Windows 10 drivers for your WinPE.  Don't include ones that already exist inbox though.
