Content Push Apis in Java for Fast search server 2010 for sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi to all,

I am using Fast search server 2010 for sharepoint and want to push document to FS4SP. For .NET, Microsoft has released content push api (but it is released as deprecated)http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5210. In FAST ESP, java apis were available through which we can easily push content to FAST. So is there still any java apis available through which we can push content to FAST and which is NOT deprecated.

I've also found "docpush.exe" to push content to FAST, but is there any mechanism available to validate whether the content push is successful or not?

  • There is only the .NET API and it is deprecated.  The reason it is deprecated it that it does not work with SP 2013, and SP 2013 does not ship with a content API, you have to use BCS.

  • Thank you for quick reply..:)  We are working on integrating WCM software with FS4SP. For this only reason, we've also installed SP 2010. If we use .NET Content Push API ("Deprecated") for FS4SP in our current environment, would it create any problem for us in future?

It'll create a problem for you in the present. The Content API was also not designed or guaranteed to work with Service Pack 1 of FS4SP.
