Deciphering errors in DPMRAX file (errlog) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Could anyone out there help me to understand some errors that I'm getting in my DPM error log (seen below)?

       What is "fswrapper.cpp"?

What is error code "5" found at the end of the error below?

Why am I getting this error?

    Here are some details:

DPM Version: DPM 2012 SP 1

    Log File Name: DPMRA0.errlog

Log File Location: D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\Temp

Error Code: ProcessId ThreadId Date Time ComponentCode FileName(FileLine) This TaskId Level TraceMessage

I hope this isn't so simple of a question that I should have known it.

  • Hi,

See if you can open or copy the offending file (in the above example this would be PunctuationDataAccess.resx) on the DPM replica volume without getting access denied.

  • HI,

    Q1) What is "fswrapper.cpp"?
A1)  That is the source code file name.

Q2) What is error code "5" found at the end of the error below?

    C:\>net helpmsg 5

    Access is denied.

Q3)  Why am I getting this error?
A3) Most likely anti-virus software - Add an exclusion for the DPMRA.EXE in your AV software.

  • Thank you, this was very very helpful.

We are already excluding DPMRA.exe and CSC.exe from the End Point Protection software scans.

Would you have any other suggestions?
