    In Windows Vista (SP1), is there any way to completely disable the sleep and hibernate feature?

    Hi Jordan,

     

    To disable Hibernation:

     

    At an elevated cmd prompt type - "powercfg -h off".

     

    To disable Sleep:

     

    1.    Open gpedit.msc and go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>System>Power Management>Sleep Settings.

    2.    Enable "Turn Off Hybrid Sleep (Plugged In)" and "Turn Off Hybrid Sleep (On Battery)"

    3.    Disable "Allow Standby States (S1-S3) when sleeping (Plugged In)" and "Allow Standby States (S1-S3) when sleeping (On Battery)"
