Can't join a meeting as guest. (ipad, android, pc) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a meeting in a few days. Because we dont have SfB we make a Test with the person who leads the meeting, so we can be sure if everything is working fine.

First we try with ipad and Samsung Galaxy, because it has a mic and a cam. So we got a mail with the join link. If we click join we got on a website and download the SfB app. There we can join as guest,e enter a name and than it gives the message that says: you got logged out, we need your Accout info to log in.

Same on PC with google chrome. It dont ask for a guest name, if we start the webapp i asks for user name and password.

We followed this instruktion from that youtube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT2z1wu0o48 but

but on time 1min, we dont get this text in our browser, we got this one here:

"Have you successfully joined the meeting? Feel free to close this page.
    OR
Join Using Skype for Business Web App instead" <- its a link for downloading the web app.

How can i join this meeting next week? Any ideas whats wrong?

  • It looks like the server doesn't allow anonymous users to join the meeting, like when you join as guest to meeting you are called as anonymous participant.

I would suggest you check your Skype for Business Admin and ask them verify if the parameter "-AllowAnonymousParticipantsInMeetings" is set to True

    Get-CsConferencingPolicy -Identity <PolicyName> | Select-Object AllowAnonymousParticipantsInMeetings

revert back if any further queries.

  • Hi Nivis,

Here is an instruction regarding how to join SFB meeting using SFB web App if you don’t have the desktop version of Skype for Business on PC.

And if you want to join the meeting on your mobile phone without having a SFB account, you could install SFB app on your phone first, and then follow this guide.

Also, please make sure the organizer's deployment has enabled the option “Enable anonymous user access to conference” under “Access Edge configuration” in SFB control panel from Admin side.

    Kind regards,

    Calvin Liu
