  • Hi Ezeagu XT,

Would you please share us more details of the issue?

As far as I know the virtual wifi miniport adapter is based on the physical adapter. To reinstall this adapter, we just need to right click to uninstall it and it will be reinstalled automatically when we restart the machine.

If the main issue is that the virtual wifi miniport adapter is no longer work well. In another words, it is not available to create a wifi hotspot on Windows 7 machine .
Please take the following steps to have a troubleshoot.
1.Reinstall the network adapter from the device manager. It is recommended to download the driver manually from the HP website for the machine.
2.Open an administrator command line and run "netsh wlan show drivers". Ensure "Hosted network supported" is "Yes".
3.Then run "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=name key=password" to create the wifi hotspot.
4.Run "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" to start the wifi hotspot.

If I have misunderstood the issue, please feel free to let me know that.

    Best regards
