Reinstall ADC with same hardware

    Question

  • Hi, Due to some booting issue reinstalled OS on Additional domain controller. Now want to configure Additional domain controller with same hostname, ip add on same system. For this, is there need to cleanup metadata from PDC. Please guide asap.

    Yes you need to clean up the metadata.

    After cleaning up the metadata.add the server to domain and promote it as domain controller

  • In case of windows 2008 and later OS, Metadata is automatically cleaned up when you delete DC object from dsa.msc
