Once again in desperate and urgent need of information! For my research I need to have some numbers regarding the time needed to build OLAP cubes for some large databases. Somewhere else I found information on this but on a different server "cognos". I need similar information but for SQL Server 2005. This is the example I found:
"Cube-1 Details:
No of records in the cube = 14,714,585
No of categories = 1,016,600
Size of cube = 1.16 GB
Total cube creation time = 7 hrs 40 mins
Cube-2 Details:
No of records in the cube = 75,000,000
No of categories = 2,173,202
Size of cube = 2.6 GB
Total cube creation time = 20 hrs 40 mins"
These numbers definitely depend on the environment specifications so if you provide with that information as well it would be a bonus!
