event 81 Failover clustering RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a server 2019 that is also our Hyper-v Server.

This server is not part of any Cluster and Cluter manager console is also not installed on this server.

in the application log we see lots of event 81 Failover clustering-client

Why should we see this event when this server is not part of any cluster!?

    Thanks

  • The RSAT tool is it installed on your Hyper-V Server?

If its possible, can you try to uninstall the Backup Excec client from this server and check if you'll get always the error?

  • Hi Shahin,

Try to reinstall the Hyper-V and reboot the server then check if the errors stills or not.

If you have RSAT tool installed on the server, you can have this error, try to uninstall it and check.

There is a possibility to have this error message if you have a Software backup client installed on the server, as Acronis Backup..., is this the case for you?

  • Hi SAAD,

    Thanks for the reply,

unfortunately cannot remove the Hyper-v role, coz this is a server in production with 15 VM's

As you can see No Cluter tool is installed

We dont have Acronis Backup agent but Backup Exec 15 for Hyper-v Agent on this server.

  • Hi SAAD

I think this is really have something to do with the Backup agent.

I did check the time of the event and it is corresponding with the each time I backup my VM's

So I think for the time beeing is save to ignor this error.

    Thank you for your reply.
