    If users have a mapped network drive like P:\\FileServer\Office\  and I enable branch cache on server and clients (2008 R2 and Windows 7), We have a questions:

    User1 open a document a word P:\\FileServer\Office\Document1.docx for modify its content

    How does it affect to other user that access to that file ??

    How does Word open this document ??? use SMB?

    Did you enable BranchCache on a file share ?

    BranchCache is a wide area network (WAN) bandwidth optimization technology that is included in some editions of the Windows Server® 2008 R2 and Windows® 7 operating systems. To optimize WAN bandwidth, BranchCache copies content from your main office content servers and caches the content at branch office locations, allowing client computers at branch offices to access the content locally rather than over the WAN.
