DPM 2010 not using new drives in Storage Pool RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are running DPM 2010, with a total of 6 iSCSI drives attached. One drive array crashed, so we removed that one. The 6th one was added yesterday. DPM sees the drives, the total amount of free space, but throws the error "insufficient space for data protection"

I just inherited this setup, so I'm not sure of all the details.

What do we need to do to get Exchange data protection running again? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • HI

As a result of the failed disk drive (array), do you show any failed volumes in Windows disk management ?  If so, then those volumes were effected by the disk failure and need to be deleted.  Once all the failed volumes are deleted, DPM should show missing volumes.  You need to run the following command so DPM can remake the volumes that were deleted so protection can continue.

    CD to C:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\bin\

Run consistency check against the effected data sources.
