windows 7 search Doesn't work RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried adding file types, adding search locations, still nothing.  in a drive loaded with " 2009 " in the folder and file names, it doesnt return anything for a search of 2009.

So now I have to keep an XP pro machine or fire up my Apple Mac to find any file.  Really f__king great Microsoft.  How long has windows 7 been out?  Are you really that stupid?

  • Hi Dru2,

Please calm down. Would you please explain your problem please? Perhaps post a screenshot for clarity?

  • I'll explain the problem for him... searching in windows has been completely useless since windows 2000. XP, Vista and 7 are all one big balls-up in terms of searching ability. Every iteration is different, but just as broken and the one before. I did a search for 'shadercache' and got some files that i didn't want, then i searched for 'global' and got a loads of files named 'globalshadercache*' which are the ones i wanted. I uploaded these two images to demonstrate the problem...

Can I say WTF any louder micosoft? Could you get someone who isn't 14 years old and retarded to actually come along and fix this BS? Ive been living with it for too many years now.
