Access to my home folder denied RRS feed

  • I wanted to change permissions to access and edit files in my home folder for other users. Unfortunately, I made a mistake. I denied access to group Users. So I cannot access my home folder anymore and I cannot change it back in folder settings. I always get message Access Denied. Can anybody know how to change it? Thanks a lot

    Can you open the properties of the folder?How did you chang the settings or which step you will be denied ? Have you tried to take ownership of this folder from the "Advanced "tab of the security properties ?

    Maybe we can use “icacls” utility to have a try.We can run “Icacls (folder path)” to get the access control lists of this folder and check who has the permission of modifying this folder. Or we can use it to change the access control lists directly.
