Is it possible (and if yes how) to configure MS SharePonin 2007 (running on windows 2003 r2 Server) to send emails without having exchange server on place.
We use google mail serves, for our email needs.

I normally use a free mail server called hmailserver installed on the SharePoint server to act as a relay agent in this particular case. You can find it here.
