  • Hi there,

First of all, please uninstall previous version of Windows Live programs and downloaded the latest version of Live Messenger from the official MSN website. Try the latest stalling files as a test.

If the install failed, please let me know the exact error in the pop-up window. Is there any file name or message except “Error code hr:0x80070003”

1.The error can be caused by a bad conflict on Visual Studio Runtime. If an error prevents one of your Windows Live programs from upgrading to the latest version, none of your Windows Live programs will be upgraded.
Update your computer, if you don’t know whether your computer is up-to-date, please go to Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Update use update automatically.
If you have installed Visual Studio, you should go to the official website of VS and download the upgrade service pack or update for them:

After upgrading, you can try to install as a test.

2.Please perform the following methods to hopefully fix the issue If the issue persists.
Run Clean Boot, try to install Live Messenger as administrator

Pls let me know the result of the tests.
