Update Distribution Point RRS feed

  • Hi

How can I update a single package for single distribution point?

The only way I found is to right click on the package and click on update distribution points, this will update the package on all distribution points which I don't need.

  • Thank you for your reply, but there is no tab for updating.

Validate and redestribute are the only options, i think the redestribution option will delete the current one and will distribute the new one.

  • There is no way to "update" a single DP because it doesn't make sense to do so. All DPs need to have the same version of content and by definition, updating content on DPs increments the version number.

  • Updating DPs will make a load on the network specially if they are on slow network. I need to update them on fifferent schedule.

  • You can configure throttling and scheduling on a per DP basis (see the properties of a DP).
