Behavior of "Save for sharing" change in MSP 2013 client professional RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I found a "strange" behavior when using the "Save for sharing" feature in the MSP 2013 client.
It changes the Status manager and the owner of the plan which is not expected (at least not done in MSP 2010).
    Did you already noticed that?

    Here is what I did.
    1) Open the plan in question in MS Project Professional 2013
    2) Select File > Share > Save for Sharing > Save as
    3) Save the plan locally somewhere (doesn’t matter where)
    4) Close Project Professional
    5) Open Project Professional and open the local copy of the plan saved above
    6) Next Click File > Save As > Save
    7) The plan name will be grey and non-editable, therefore just select “ Save ”
    8) After the save is finished, publish the plan

The column "Status manager" is changed to the person who is connect to the client.
And the Project Owner is also change to that person.

Thank you in advance for any confirmation

I reported this behavior to Microsoft and they stated this was a bug that was due to be fixed.  If you have not already applied Service Pack 1 and the latest Cumulative Update in your copy of Microsoft Project 2013, I would recommend you do so with all due haste.  If memory serves me correctly, I believe this bug has already been fixed.  Hope this helps.
