Router does not update its ARP table after an IP address fails over to a cluster node in Windows Server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am still using Windows 2008 Server R2 and I found the above issue.

The fix is no longer available, how can I solve the issue ?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

Here are some ARP cache flush commands to remove/delete any ARP cache entries where they reside on which ever server listed below.
    1. arp -d (ip address)
    2. arp -d -a (this deletes all entries in the arp table).

    To flush the entire cache:
    1. netsh int ip delete arpcache
    2. cycle your switch that the server/s reside on
    3. bounce/cycle the server/s in question.

As on January 14, 2020, support for Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 ended. That means regular security updates have also ended. Please update to the newer version for better experience.

    Best regards,

    Cherry
