Scheduled tasks SSO for remote forest using ADFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two separate forest and having one specific server in one forest where we are running all scheduled job by PowerShell. Both the forest is single domain. We need two accounts for running those scheduled tasks on remote forest.one is local acct for scheduling the job in local forest and another one is required for remote forest authentication cause we don't have traditional ADDS trust.

Can I use ADFS for those scheduled task for SSO ?I mean ,I want to use single local service acct. Is that possible????

Answers

  • No. ADFS does not provide SSO for Windows task scheduler. You could make the work of your schedule task done by a web application/web API or any other type of app capable of leveraging ADFS for authentication. But that's a dramatic change of architecture.
