recovering xp but keep getting error reinstall root>\system32\hal.dll RRS feed

  • I am trying to recover windows xp but I keep getting an error saying I need to reinstall a file called root>\system32\hal.dll. I don't have a recovery console installed. Does anyone know an easy way to fix this?

  • I am reinstalling xp on the original master that i had  have been using as a slave, I formatted it so I could reinstall/recover xp on it. From the beginning could you explain how to recover it using the recovery disc and what to do when the error reinstall root>\system32\hal.dll comes up? I have no restore points left on it. Please,! Thank you.

  • i had to reinstall the OS in order to boot itup with no problem.
