Vista is resetting my bootloader every time i boot. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi i am using windows vista ultimate edition and i got a fresh installation of it. But everytime my computer starts at the very beginning of loading vista it shows  a dos-like black sceen and some message on it. It shows just for 1 sec & continue loading. I have tried to get the message but i was only able to retrive something like 'resetting bootloader'. Is it an error or just normal? Would it be problematic for my HDD since it reseting bootloader every time?

  • Tanvir,

I would look in the event logs and see if there are any related messages to ensure that Windows isn't actually dealing with some issue.

Also, I would check the Startup and Recovery settings (System Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Settings (in Startup and Recovery section).

This screenshot shows a normal setup (I'm running Windows 7, but the Vista dialog is identical).
