Sharepoint Home page load takes time RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

My Sharepoint home page takes a lot of time to load nearly a minute when we access it first time in the morning as well as after long gap say after 1 or 2 hours. If i refresh the page immediately then it loads quickly. I just have a Content Editor Web part in the page. What could be the reason, how to troubleshoot the issue.

I have checked the application pool recycling settings also, it is scheduled 2:00 A.M in the morning. So couldnt understand why it takes time even when we access the page after 1 or 2 hours time.

  • It could be that the problem is caused by .NET framework checking the certificate of signed assemblies to be revoked (CRL check).

    See here for details:

  • Hi,

    What are your cache settings?

This has a big impact on  the performance.

I hope this will help you out.

  •

But the thing is other MOSS web applications in that server are running without any issues. Even then do we need to look at CRL. Please suggest.

  • Hi RK,

in this case: no. Then it sounds as if there are specific things in this web application which cause the delay.

    Cheers,
    Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

But we have the same web application (same customisations) running properly in our dev server. That only makes me think that the issue is related to the server.

  • Didn't you just mention that on the same server other applications are quick?

  • Yes Stefan, Other applications are working properly in the server and also the particular web app is working fine in the different server I mean development server.

We checked the below things in the app pool.

    1. Recycle app settings are configured once in the night

    2. Also the Idle Timeout of the application pool is set to zero

    Couldnt get how to proceed.....
