  • Hi,

How about your problem now? According to the error code and log, it is Network problem, it would be better to use other network to test this problem.

In addition, you can try to use Windows update troubleshooter to fix this problem for test.

  • The only thing that could (and as it proves, does) interfere is our university firewall. It allows all normal web, email and ftp traffic.

What is Update using? a special port?.

  • I am having the same problem.  All Windows 7 machines update just fine on our network.

Only the Windows 8.1 machines are having this problem.  They have been updating fine in the past.

  • I'm having the same issue with two new 8.1 machines. Did you get it resolved?
    Tuesday, April 29, 2014 6:01 PM
  • Hi.

I am having the same issues with several computers here.

It seems related to the KB2919355 windows update.

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-windows_update/windows-81-windows-update-error-code-80072efe/1e2b59b7-429e-4d2f-870b-cb16c988b36d?page=1

If i uninstall KB2919355 and reboot, windows Update will work as normal. ( I think KB2919355 is Windows 8.1 Update 1)

When I install KB2919355 again, windows update is not able to download updates from internet. It does however get updates from our internal WSUS server without any problems.

I want KB2919355, and do also want to be able to check for updates on internet.
