Anonymous Access on Document Set name link

When i click on the document set name link to view the photos in that document set it gives me "http://xxx/tEST?" site can not be found. If I am logged in it goes to the correct url which is http://xxx/Forms/Document%20Set/docsethomepage.aspx?ID=1&FolderCTID=0x0120D520004F74ECF654ACE043833F79685AB1F28F&List=eefec644-52a0-423d-b246-f0a2a73447d7&RootFolder=%2Fsitename%2FcdocLibName%2FtEST

Also if i use the name with the dropdown view field, it gives me http://xxx/_layouts/DocSetHome.aspx?id=/site/doclibName/tEST not found. you can see that there is no id in the url. but also if i log in and click on the link the id is there. which is 1 currently in my dev system.

THis is driving me nuts.

Any insite would be greatly appriciated.

I have no answer, but was able to reproduce this.

SharePoint 2010 Server with a site based on a team site template (not a publishing site; viewformpageslockdown feature is NOT enabled)

Created a document library and enabled document sets. Anonymous user can view content of the document library, but can not browse the document set. Fiddler shows the 401 occurring on _layouts/docsethomepage.aspx

Any suggestions? Or is this another feature that has difficulty with anonymous:

openned a ticket with microsoft support. Will update as soon as they respond to me.

They replicated the issue and they are escalating it to an Engineer. Will update when i get more info.
