Server 2010 - Start Date on new Projects created in PWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When creating a new project from an Enterprise Project Type in PWA, the Start Date always seems to be the date of the template creation.  We have tried leaving Start Date blank in Project Professional when creating a template, but whenever a new Project is created in PWA, we still always are having to change that Start Date.  Is there a way to force new projects to have the current date as the Start Date?

    Thanks!

No, there is no way to force the Start date to default to today whenever you create a new project from a template.  Setting the Start date of the project is one of about half a dozen initiating steps that the PM must do to properly initiate any new project, either in Microsoft Project or using a PDP in PWA.  Hope this helps.

  • Hi Scott,

In the project creation page (PDP), you have the start date field that will position the start date of your project. Editing the calendar, you can click on "today" button.

    Hope this helps.
