Project Server 2016: calendar synchronization with Exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good afternoon! My name is Ivan and I have the following question:
in our company we have deployed Sharepoint server 2016 rc, and we use the Project server by pwa. There is Enterprise Project calendar.
Also, all employees use Exchange calendar to maintain the current non-project activities.
Is it possible to synchronize \ configure Enterprise Project Calendar with an Exchange calendar, where all employees have brought their vacation days and other employment? It is necessary that these days should be displayed in the Project, as the nonworking time.

    I've already tried this:

but in resource center i've got the following error:

    • The email address for the given resource is invalid for Exchange Sync.

  • Hi,

I have not yet tried with 2016, only with 2013. Thereis also currently only a description for 2013 available:

You can just try, if it still fits to your environment.

  • Hi,

Since Project Server 2013, you can sync Exchange Out of Office periods with the resources' calendar.

See the procedures here (for 2013 but still applicable) :

    Hope this helps,

    Priviet Ivan,

please install at least the Project Server May 2016 cumulative update to fix that error.

    To everyone else:

We have a deployment with Project Server 2016 on premises and Exchange online. Trying to Sync Out of Office time yields the following error in the queue: 'GeneralInvalidOperation'

Does anyone have OOO Sync working with Exchange Online?

Update: This functionality stopped working in PS 2013 too, so I presume Exchange Online broke it.

    Best regards,

  • We are experiencing the same error message on Project Server 2013 on premises synchronizing OOF data with our on premises Exchange 2013. Were you able to resolve this issue?
