  • From the Ribbon - View:Data ->Drop down against the Filter selection -> More Filters, select the filter and hit the Edit button.

A couple of filters - like Using Resource... - can't be edited

To add to the excellent answer already given by GMcH, when you create a new filter in a project, Project 2013 automatically adds the new filter to your Global.mpt file.  When you edit the filter at a later time, you are editing the copy of the filter in the project, and not the copy of the filter in your Global.mpt file.  After editing the filter, you should click File > Info > Organizer and then click the Filters tab.  Select the custom filter on the right side of the dialog (in the project), and click the Copy button to copy the newly-edited filter to your Global.mpt file.  When prompted to overwrite the filter, click the Yes button.

Without this extra piece of information, I am afraid you would be even more frustrated than you were when you posted the original question!  :)  Hope this extra helps.

  • Hi there

When I try to delete the filter the copy and edit option is greyed out. When I go to the organizer it comes up with the message All task filter cannot be copied, renamed or deleted. Can someone please help. I'm desperate to delete a filter. Many thanks

  • SylvesterC,

First, sorry for the late response. The forum had problems for several days wherein new posts were not appearing. The issue is now fixed.

You post is tagged unto a rather old thread. Might have been better to start a new thread.

What version of Project are you using? Is it updated with the latest Cumulative Update?

What filter are you trying to delete? Is it a built-in filter or one that you created?

    John
