  • Hi there,

Have you set up the correct database maintenance plans?

Also have you set the correct optimisations for SQL:

Execute the following SQL against all 4 Project Sever PWA databases then retest to see if there is an improvement:

    EXEC sp_updatestats

  • Hello,

No other settings, for all perfromances issue start with the SQL Server to make sure the correct maintenance plans are in place and also that the SQL Server is optimised for SharePoint / Project Server. Pass this over to your SQL Server DBA to review.

  • Hi Arvin,

As Paul has provided you with some really handful of optimization scripts requires to be executed at DB server.

Additionaly you can also look into these points in order to enhance your PWA loading time.

    1. Is your sever connected to internet? because if the server hosting the PWA is not connected to the internet, you have to actively do something to avoid performance being impacted. This was also blogged here by Brian Smith in detail:

You have to  disabled the timeouts for the certificates verification in the SharePoint server, this component is on by default and , whenever an application is presented with a certificate that is not present in the trusted root store, it will attempt to contact Microsoft download servers to get the latest root chain.

You need to by pass this validation, please see the above mentioned blog in detail for the steps.

    2. And perphaps you can also give it a try to this warm up tool available here :

this will help speed up the load time of your PWA pages, and lot of people use this to improvise the load time.

    Hope this helps.
