FCS Client Forced and Pending Reboots RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have noticed a few cases where FCS is not installed but a reboot is pending.  In some cases it even forces the client installation to reboot, giving them a 3 minute warning.  This is despite the fact I have configure GP not to never reboot after an update installation.

Does anybody know what the factor is that causes.

    a) a reboot to register as pending.
    b) a reboot to be forced on a client.

WSUS is only configured to deploy FCS updates.

I don't want to deploy to the masses if it is going to cause people to loose work because of a forced reboot.

    Thanks

  • What is your GPO option on a client when you run RSOP.msc for the following...

Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Windows Update> "Configure Automatic Updates"  If this is set to 4 - Auto download and schedule the install  then you will get rebooted at some point regardless of any other option that you may set.
