Groups moved to new OU RRS feed

  • Question

  • We had about 1000 groups moved to an OU that is not checked by the AD MA.  So obviously FIM kicks back a bunch of errors because its trying to recreate the groups.  Provided the join rules are correct, which i believe they are, would selecting the new OU where the groups are now stored resolve the issue?

  • Yes however you would need to do a couple of additional things:

    1. Disable Provisioning (Tools>Options)

    2. Do a Full Import on the AD MA

    3. Do a Delta Sync on the AD MA

    4. Enable Provisioning

    5. Do a Full Sync on the AD MA

  • Its showing a bunch of renames, but in the opposite values.  The value for the old DN is the correct value in AD.  the new DN is the old, incorrect value.

  • What is the correct way to move groups to a new OU?  Im considering moving the groups back to the original OU and then follow whatever steps are out there for the proper way to move groups in AD.

  • If you're using a metaverse rules extension you'd do it there. If you're using sync rules, flow the OU as part of the DN attribute flow.
