WHY doesn't WSUS show WIN10 version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anyone know why WSUS does not show the actual version of win10 a machine is on.

Simply shows - windows (Verzion 10.0).

Why would this not show the exact build so you know which client's need to be updated.

If your WSUS is installed on W2016 you will see Details. For 2012R2 or
2012 you need a SQL Script. Best practise is to run this script once a
    hour.

  • Hivs2017sv,

What is the version of the WSUS server, if it is WSUS 4.0(Server 2012 or 2012R2), then seems you haven't installed KB3095113 and KB3159706(with manual steps), if not, you may install the two KBs.

Besides, we may add "Version" in the view:

While in my test lab, it seems the version might mismatch with the actual version on client side.

If you want to know which clients need updates, please check the state below:

    Best Regards,

    Anne

Version is a part of the view a couple of years a go. Is you
    screenshot from a W2012R2 WSUS or from a W2016?

We have many W2012R2 with KB3159706 installed and manuel steps, but no
Windows 10 Enterprise oder Windows 10 Pro as Description. Only if the
Client come directly to the W2016 WSUS i can see Enterprise or Pro.
And on W2012R2 i ran the linked SQL Script hourly for see
    Pro/Enterprise on WSUS at W2012R2.

  • Hi Winfried Sonntag,

The screenshot in my last reply is on WSUS server 2012 R2.

Oh, yes, the view comes from a replica downstream WSUS server 2016.

    Best Regards,

    Anne
