    Hi,
    despite the fact that sharepoint 2010 has not been release yet I have a some questions concering this new plattform  which could not be answered by google (so far) :>

    I need a knowledge base system for sharepoint 2010 (should be freeware).

    1) does anybody know a good template?

    2) for Sharepoint 2007 microsoft developed the so called "fabulous 40 templates" (including a knowledge base template) - is it possible to migrate this templates to Sharepoint 2010 (i know that they are not compatible but maybe there is a workaround - mybe by using Visual studio?)

    Can you explain the functionalities for your Knowledge Base system?

    I guess Microsoft will definitely come up with those updated 40 templates for SP 2010.

    hi,

     the functionalities should be:

    writing + editing articels + upload documents, tagging with keywords, categories, search function.

    does anybody know when microsoft is planning to release those templates?

    According to a post on 8.18.2010 by Samanta Robertson, "Microsoft is not releasing new versions of these templates for SharePoint 2010 Products."

    Hello,

    there are no OOB helpdesk templates for SharePoint 2010. Afaik, Microsoft recommends to ask partners for a 3rd party solutions. For example http://www.harepoint.com/Products/HarePointHelpDesk/
