Setting Up SFTP Server for external access RRS feed

  • Good Morning,

    Can I have some feedback on the correct way to configure my server for external access on the internet. 

    The networking will be managed by another member of the team and the will be allowing port 22 on the firewall for the source server destination IP address in the DMZ.

    What is needed from a server perspective?

    Create a DNS entry for the FQDN we want to use externally. Where is this set up? Forward look up zones?

    To ensure encryption we have a public Certificate that will be used.

    Can some advise how this is done sequentially at a high level?

    You could create DNS entry for SFTP server on external DNS server, and configure it to point public address.

    >>Forward look up zones?Yes, you need to create A record.
