Server says it has one dynamically assigned IPv6 address RRS feed

  • Question

  • When running DCDIAG, my server says it has one dynamically assigned IPv6 address but I have IPv6 unchecked on the NIC. When I run IPCONFIG /ALL, all I see is an IPv4 address. How is this possible?

  • Hello pstoric,

Thank you for posting in this forum.

It is recommended that you configure a static IPv6 address in the NIC and then disable it. This warning message will disappear afterwards.

You can also refer to this post: Dynamically assigned IPV6 warning on DHCP server for more information.
