  • Make sure you're opening the SharePoint Designer with your account (Not via "Run as Administrator").

did you make sure to verify "Ensure the checkbox for Create App Management Service Application Proxy and add it to the default proxy group" is checked during configuration?

You should also try to configure service application associations, but I don't know if the app management proxy will appear given your error. But you should try. I also documented these instructions:

    Open SharePoint 2013 Central Administration.

In the left navigation bar, select Application Management.

In the Service Applications section, choose Configure service application associations.

In the Application Proxy Group column, select default (it is a link).

In the Configure Service Application Associations window, ensure each connection is selected. Select OK.

    I hope that works.

  • something wrong with your SSL certificate or its settings

import the certificate to the Certificate store of the crawler and in SharePoint Cert Store [Central Admin > Security > Manage Trust] upload the root certificate of the repository
