DPM 2010 - Tape library device driver upgradation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a query on DPM 2010. We have planned to upgrade the tape library device driver on the DPM server. What is the preventive measure that we need to follow. Is there any impact by doing this? Do we need to change any setting after this upgradation activity?

    Regards

    Sunny

  • Hi Sunny,

This should work without a problem. As a rollback you can always use the current driver.

  • Hi Tim,

Ya you are right, we can rollback the driver if it fails. But my query is whether we need to stop all the backup schedule and then start this activity or any other best practise we need to follow before upgrading driver.

  • Hi Sunny,

Backup to disk can proceed during upgrade of the driver. Backup to tape is during the upgrade not possible. Is there any time frame in wich you can update the driver without interfering the backup to tape schedule?

    Bart
