IE Crashing when trying to Attach Files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

A user of mine that is needing to attach files online using IE 9 or 10 because the website is only work with those versions. When they try and attach an invoice it just crashes IE 9 and 10. Now I have tested it on a webmail site that is unrelated to that website and the same issue occurs.

I have tested to find out if it is the website with the issue or if it was something else interfering with it(Addons, Startup programs, Services)

Searched for this problem and did some of the suggested items but nothing has worked.(Resetting IE to default, Restore advanced settings, Delete Browsing history, upgrading/downgrading IE, run as admin, run in compatibility mode)

Currently don't have access to the computer today but any suggested ideas for when I get back to it to try and run would be highly appreciated because I have hit a brick wall.

  • Hello Itichyx,

Please explain a bit about the question as MVP Robear Dyer mentioned.

Additionally, have you made any changes before this issue?

If my understanding is right, only in one single computer user can’t add attach file to the particular website.
Does this issue also occur when this user try to add attach file to other website like mail website? What webmail side did you test?

Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Check your AV software and disable it's scan email feature.
    2. Try to repair and reinstall Internet Explorer in Windows.

  • Hello,

Windows 7 32 bit, and I tested using IE 9 and 10. Website isn't an issue. I tried testing using webmail, and using another source to attach files. Same issue occurs. It works on other computers just fine. Only changes made were to downgrade IE to the correct version so that they can use the website properly since it is only compatible with those versions of IE and the only browser they support.
