OpsMgr 2007 R2 agent on the Web server hosting the self service portal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We tried to install the Service Manager Self Service Portal on a web server that had an OpsMgr agent on it and the install told us to remove the OpsMgr agent. No problem. Did that. Installed the SSP and all working fine.

However, can we now re-install the OpsMgr agent on the web server hosting the Service Manager SSP or are there known issues?

    Thanks

    Graham

  • Hi

An Operations Manager agent and the Service Manager management server can coexist on the same server if you install the Service Manager management server first and then manually install the Operations Manager agent. Only an OpsMgr 2007 R2 agent is allowed on the Service Manager servers.

I haven´t heard any issues for SSP and SCOM agent, so I belive it´s the same thing for SSP.
