USB Modem not listed in device manager RRS feed

  • Hi there,
         I have a TATA USB modem it worked fine on vista, but i have to uninstall/reinstall due to some reasons. When i am trying to reinstall windows says encountered problem installing driver and exits. I see in the device manager there is no listing of ports(COM&LPT). The driver works fine on wondows-XP.

    can any one help me!!

    Hi,

     

    Thank you for posting.

     

    Since the TATA USB modem cannot be found in Device Manager, please unplug and plug it again (or change to another USB port) to see if it will appear.

     

    If it can be found then, please try to install the driver with Administrator privileges to see if it works, or you can boot into Safe Mode and reinstall the driver. (If you can find its driver in the “Control Panel – Programs”, please remove it first.)

     

    Since the issue is related to the hardware, it is also recommended that you contact the USB modem’s manufacture for technical support.
