net stop <service> hangs from script RRS feed

    I'm trying to restart a service from a script that is scheduled from a Java application on Windows 7.   Note that UAC is disabled.  Specifically, the Java app schedules a script that then issues a "AT" command to schedule another script in the background that is going to restart the windows service (of the java app that is originally scheduled the script).   The AT script issues a "net stop <service>" followed by a "net start <service>".    The problem is that the "net stop <service>" never returns and hangs forever.

    This works fine on Windows XP, Vista, 2003 Server, and 2008 Server.

    Hi,

     

    Does this issue occur to all Windows 7 clients?

     

    How about run the net start or net stop in command prompt?

     

    Please check the Event Viewer to see if there is some information on this phenomenon.

     

    Also, as a test, try to test in Clean Boot mode.
