replica and bcache RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using replica servers in remote offices for years. Works fine.

See the term branchcache in WSUS … is it something different/added or the same meaning.

Could branch cache be used without having actual WSUS REPLICA installed?

  • Ok. So I read the simple explanation about use of BranchCache for WSUSing…

The idea is simple. Also, saw couple of discussions on web about Replica structure vs BCache.

Really no consensus on that one. But looks like more people prefer Standard Replica.

Also, the question is for one upstream and one downstream.

In my case one upstream serves 10+ sites.

Is there some MS recommendation in what situation Replica is more advantageous.

Also, I will appreciate the advise from your experience if you had touch both things in large environment.

Or just few replicas vs branchcase with multiple sites.

    Thx.
